Schu’s Grill & Bar raises over $6,500 for the American Cancer Society Community members acting as celebrity servers donated their time and 100% of the tips they made St. Joseph, Michigan: Molly and Larry Schuler, of Schu’s Grill & Bar are pleased to announce proceeds of over $6,500 from their 6th annual “Schulebration” will be donated to the American Cancer Society at 10:00 am Monday morning, February 7, 2005 at Schu’s Grill & Bar in downtown St. Joe. The contribution was raised over the weekend of January 28-29 in an entertaining event staffed by volunteers of the local community. Acting as “celebrity servers” during the lunch and dinner shifts, these brave helpers, most of whom have little or no restaurant experience, promoted the event to increase the number of customers while encouraging them to tip liberally. They gifted 100% of those gratuities at the end of their shift. “The tallying at the end of the weekend reveals the spirit of generosity this event creates. Everyone, including our employees get into the positive attitude of giving charitably, while truly having a great time,” expressed Larry Schuler. Schuler also stressed the personal commitment he and Molly have to this cause, as Molly has very successfully fought her battle with Cancer for eight years.
